Job Description

As a commercial construction carpenter, you will work across several disciplines of construction, with a focus on: 

  • Wood framing for structures, walls, decorative items, backing & blocking, tenant improvements.

  • Concrete form work for slabs on grades such as door bucks, angle stops, blockouts, and expansion joints.  Rough opening bucks in CMU walls.

  • Finish carpentry such as hanging hollow metal doors & frames, interior wood doors, & door hardware.

  • Specialties such as markerboards, mirrors, FRP, bathroom accessories, and roof hatches.

  • Some exterior finish carpentry such as fiber cement siding, flexible flashings, sealants, and trim.

  • Punch list work for project acceptance, such as drywall repair, paint touch-ups, door adjustments, etc.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold).

  • Ability to use hand and power tools, including but not limited to: skill saws, chop saws, nail guns, compressors, ladders, and various hand tools.

  • Familiarity with heavy equipment such as reach forklifts, and scissor lifts.

  • General understanding of industry safety: hard hats, boots, glove, ear & eye protection, heavy equipment.

  • Reliable transportation.

  • Standard carpenter hand tools (belt, hammer, square, tape measure, etc.).

  • The ability to read blueprints is preferred, but not required.
