Job Description and Requirements

Position Summary: This construction company is growing its revenue and its geographic footprint. Managerial responsibility for the completion and accuracy of the company's monthly and year-end financial statements, internal financial reporting, general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and potentially payroll accounting functions. This position reports to the President and Vice President.

Essential AccountabiliesResponsible for maintaining the accuracy of Company's general ledger and financial statements, including monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.

  • Monthly reconciliation and analysis of all direct construction costs and their impact on the work in process schedules.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including work in process schedules.

  • Regular comparison of construction job costs to budget, over/under analysis.

  • Facilitate the Accounts Receivable invoicing and Accounts Payable vendor invoice payment. Oversight of contract billings, lien releases, and relationships with our customer base will be required.

  • Assist Leadwithall HR and Payroll duties (including Union and non-union, prevailing wages, certified payroll, and benefits reporting).

  • Manages bank and credit card reconciliations.

  • Maintaining the integrity (internal control system) of Company's overall accounting system.

  • Prepare all required payroll and business tax reporting, as well as support external consultants and providers, including the CPA firm and banker. Again, some of this can be done by staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another business degree with accounting experience. A combination of both general and cost accounting experience of 2 -5 years of work experience, ideally in a construction environment. Must be able to learn software quickly.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of general accounting, GAAP, and personal computer skills, including advanced Excel skills required.

  • Must be highly motivated with exceptional management and organizational skills complemented with effective communication abilities to interface with both internal and outside resources. This position must possess a high regard for confidentiality and also have effective written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with contractor Procore & Quickbooks software.

  • Experience with work in process construction schedules and their impact on the overall financials tatements.

  • A valid CPA, CMA, or other related accounting designation (Preferred)
